In the instant that Wanda opened the shutter of the lantern, her insides were snatched away by fear. Everything felt numb, apart from the hairs on her neck, which tingled as they stood on end. She realised she was breathing through her mouth - not panting, but not comfortable.
What had happened here?
Somehow, the others seemed to cope better. They simply started moving about, some searching, the others taking guard.
Get a grip, Wanda!
Fortunately, Malmir's calm voice broke through her thoughts. Instructing her as he was, she found that having something to do helped. She closed her eyes, breathed deeply, and started focussing on the scene.
I wonder what those lockers are about?
Wanda slowly made her way to the lockers.
