In hushed tones the companions discussed their next move.

  1. Not sure on the consensus here, rush in with violence or go in boldly with threats? Please reply below.

  2. Malmir favours going in hard... Killing wouldn't be high on his agenda but he will not be prepared to take any risks. He'd argue to hit the group suddenly and with extreme violence, though violence of the non-fatal kind. He will encourage the others to dominate the workers in the room and beat some answers out of them all.

  3. Johann will go along with Malmir - but his trigger finger will be very itchy if there's any funny business. He'd suggest watching the group first from the darkened corridor, picking individual targets and the group going in with a co-ordinated attack with the intention of subduing the workers. A threatening sword or arrow at the foreman's neck would be advisable fairly quickly!

How feasible would it be to hit someone over the head with the butt of a loaded crossbow without it going off?

  4. As a guess I'd say reasonable chance of pulling it off if you don't touch the trigger. But I would think the chance of the bolt falling out would be high.

  5. Hmm you're probably right there - Johann had best go for a quick shot and draw his sword sharpish after he bursts in.

  6. Arguably, my vote counts the least, as I'm doing neither :)

BUT, I would go in boldly with threats. If necessary, take the head off one of the recently deceased in order to prove a point?

Very OOC that statement, of course.

  7. Yeah, toss in a loose head or two, bark an ultimatum as we charge in. Attack to subdue with light bits of stabbing here and there.

  8. I think casually dismembering bodies and tossing them around is a good way to get the GM to hand you insanity points. Especially as we're 'fresh' adventurers not hardened thugs (yet).

I do like the idea posted by wanda I think of watching the group for a bit and seeing who is in charge. We could burst in and grab whoever it is and threaten him and the rest of them. "don't make us kill you like we did them other fellows".

If it goes sour we can at least ice the hostage and fire the crossbows.

  9. Fair point - we are rookie adventurers, after all. And I did say it was an OOC comment - Wanda would never say such a thing! Anyway, I vote more bull, less violence.
